Diversity & Wellbeing
  • What work experience do we offer?

Our work experience allows young people from less privileged backgrounds to gain insight into the many different jobs which exist in a law firm. Students are given the chance to work alongside our lawyers on live matters and have exposure to our clients. Students also get the chance to visit different departments so that they can gain an insight into aspects of our business other than law i.e our professional support services such as IT, marketing and HR. Students are assigned a mentor to offer day to day support and guidance during the work placement.

    When does it happen?

Work experience placements usually take place during school holidays although sometimes they can take place during specific “work experience weeks” which schools organise.

    Who can apply?

Students who meet the PRIME criteria namely those who are:

    • S2 to S6 in Scotland
    • Attend a state (non-fee paying) school
    • Be, or have been, eligible for free school meals
    • Be of the first generation in their immediate family to attend university
    How do I apply?

The closing date for applications for a 2018 PRIME work experience was 30 November 2018 and we are unable to accept any further applications. Details of our application process and closing date for next year will be available early in 2019.
